Jonathan Edwards (October 5 </wiki/October_5>, 1703 </wiki/1703>- March 22 </wiki/March_22>, 1758 </wiki/1758>) was a colonial American Congregational </wiki/Congregationalist_Church> preacher and theologian. He is known as one of the greatest and most profound American evangelical </wiki/Evangelicalism> theologians. His work is very broad in scope, but he is often associated with his defense of Calvinist </wiki/Calvinism> theology and the Puritan </wiki/Puritan> heritage, while missing the Puritan Era by almost 150 years.
