hath chosen. Compare 1Ch_22:9. 2Sa_12:25.
young and tender. Compare 1Ch_22:5.
the palace. Hebrew. birah. Used only here and 1Ch_29:19. Est_1:2, Est_1:5; Est_2:3, Est_2:5, Est_2:8, Est_2:15; Est_8:14; Est_9:6, Est_9:11, Est_9:12. Neh_1:1; Neh_2:8; Neh_7:2. Dan_8:2. The name for a Persian royal palace, which shows the date of these hooks. (See note on "drams", 1Ch_29:7), and why it is found among the Kethubim, or later books (and not with the historical books); and why Daniel is there too (and not among the prophets).
