even so, &c. = so in Christ also. Christ also has a relationship to the human race. It is that of Lordship (Rom_14:9). This is acknowledged by some now (Joh_13:13; Joh_20:28), and brings salvation (Rom_10:9). It is the work of the Holy Spirit (1Co_12:3). Hence Judas only said, "Master" (Mat_26:25, Mat_26:49). The natural man rebels against such acknowledgment (Exo_5:2. Psa_2:2, Psa_2:3; Psa_12:4. Luk_19:14). But this Lordship shall one day be asserted and acknowledged by all, including the arch-rebel himself (Psa_2:6, Psa_2:7. Php_1:2, Php_1:9-11. Rev_19:16). To this end all must be raised.
