brake down. Note the Figure of speech Synonymia (App-6), by which the words are heaped together to impress us with the thoroughness of the work: e.g. "brake down", "cut down", "brake in pieces", "made dust of them", "strowed it", and "burnt".



graves. Hebrew. keber = a burial place, from kabar, to bury (Gen_23:4, Gen_23:20, &c). Primary idea is heaping up a tumulus. Keber = a grave; Sheol = the grave. See App-35.
