very Christ = the Christ, i.e. the Messiah. App-98. Instead of searching the Scriptures to see if these things were so, the Damascenes were occupied with the change in Saul's attitude. Hence we read nothing of believers. Contrast Act_17:11, Act_17:12. No epistle addressed to them nor any record of a church there.
