earth = ground.
shall awake. This is bodily resurrection.
some = these (the former).
everlasting life. Joh_5:28, Joh_5:29. Act_24:15.
some = those. The latter: i.e. the rest of the dead (Isa_26:19, Isa_26:21; Isa_27:6. Rev_20:5, Rev_20:6). Compare 1Co_15:23. 1Th_4:16.
contempt = thrusting away.
