Deuteronomy = Second Law, from Deu_17:18, where "copy of the law" is so rendered from Rabbinic mishneh, a doubling. Hebrew Title = Haddebarim = the words. It is the fifth book, concluding the five books of the Pentateuch (see Appdx-10). No scroll of the Pentateuch ever seen with more than these five. See Appdx-46 and 47. The whole history of the book took place in the eleventh month of the fortieth year. Only the last fifteen chapters of Numbers refer to thetime of Deut.
