TITLE, Book Of Esther. One of the five Megilloth. For its place in the Hebrew Canon see Appdx-1. Read at the Feast of Purim. Comes chronologically thus: (1) Daniel; (2) Esther; (3) Nehemiah; (4) Ezra. The Divine name does not occur, except five times in the form of an Acrostic (Appdx-6) . See Appdx-60, and notes on Est_1:20; Est_5:4; Est_5:13; Est_7:5; Est_7:7.
