yielded up the ghost. The spirit going to God who gave it (Ecc_12:7. Num_16:22; Num_27:16).
gathered unto his people. Refers to body, as the previous gathering (Gen_49:33) refers to his feet. See on Gen_49:29. He was aged 147.
