saith the LORD. The Hebrew fut. of 'amar (= y', omar), combined with a Divine title, is used thrice in the so-called "former "portion of Isaiah (Isa_1:11, Isa_1:18; Isa_33:10), and six times in the "latter" portion (Isa_40:1, Isa_40:25; Isa_41:21, Isa_41:21; Isa_66:9). Elsewhere only in Psa_12:6, while the past tense is frequently used (see App-92).
