sign. Hebrew. 'oth, a present visible token or pledge, as in Gen_1:14. Ex. Isa_4:4; Isa_4:9; Isa_12:13; and especially Isa_8:18. This word is used eight times in the "former" portion (here; Isa_7:14; Isa_8:18; Isa_19:20; Isa_20:3; Isa_37:30; Isa_38:7, Isa_38:22); and three times in the "latter" portion (Isa_44:25; Isa_55:13; Isa_66:19).
