Go and cry. Jeremiah continued to retain his connection with Anathoth (Jer_11:21; Jer_29:27; Jer_32:7; Jer_37:12), though his mission was to Jerusalem.
saith the LORD. See note on Jer_1:8.
I remember thee. The expression is used in good part Psa_98:3; Psa_106:45; Psa_132:1. Neh_5:19; Neh_13:14, Neh_13:22, Neh_13:31; but in evil part Psa_79:8; Psa_137:7. Neh_6:14; Neh_13:29. Probably both senses here: the good on Jehovah's part (Jer_2:3. Hos_11:1; Hos_2:19, Hos_2:20. Amo_2:10); and the evil on Israel's part, for even in the wilderness Israel was unfaithful (Amo_5:25, Amo_5:26. Act_7:39-43).
