Jeremiah the prophet spake. This is the first occurrence of the expression. We find "said" later; and "prophet" in Jer_1:5; Jer_20:2; Jer_28:5, Jer_28:6, Jer_28:10, Jer_28:11, Jer_28:12, Jer_28:12, Jer_28:15; Jer_29:1, Jer_29:29; Jer_32:2; Jer_36:8, &c, Jer_34:6; Jer_45:1.
spake. In Ch. Jer_36:2 he is told to "write", because "Israel" (being dispersed), could not be spoken to, as Judah was here.
