Me. A Massoretic note (App-30) says that this is a cryptogram (Hebrew "Casdim"), meaning "the Chaldees". See note on Jer_51:41; Jer_25:26.
destroying = laying waste. Hebrew. shahath. The same word as in verses: Jer_51:11, Jer_51:20, Jer_51:25. Not the same as in verses: Jer_51:3, Jer_51:8, Jer_51:54, Jer_3:55.
