graveclothes. Greek. keiriai. Only used here in N.T. In the Septuagint it is used in Pro_7:16, as the rendering of the Hebrew marebaddim. Originally it meant a bed-girth, and so any kind of wrapping. Here, = swathings.
napkin. Greek soudarion. A Latin word, sudarium, or sweat-cloth. Used only here, Joh_20:7. Luk_19:20, and Act_19:12.
