served = was serving. Greek diakoneo. Occurs twenty- two times in the Gospels: thirteen times translated "minister" (Mat_4:11 to Luk_8:3); nine times "serve" (Luk_10:40 to Joh_12:26). Compare Luk_10:40. Same word as in Luk_22:27.
