tribulation. Same as "anguish", Joh_16:21.
overcome = conquered. Greek nikao. Occurs twenty-eight times. Only here in John's Gospel, but six times in first Epistle. Always translated "overcome", except in Rev_5:5; Rev_6:2; Rev_15:2. The noun nike only in 1Jn_5:4, and nikos in Mat_12:20. 1Co_15:54, 1Co_15:55, 1Co_15:57.
