This Chapter Verse Commentaries:
What and if, &c.? The Apodosis which is wanting (by Ellipsis) must be supplied thus: "If" (as in Joh_6:51) therefore ye should behold the Son of man ascending up where He was before [will ye be offended then]? "
ascend = ascending.
