into the sides = below deck, or cabins. Compare Eze_32:23. Amo_6:10.

ship = the deck, or covered part. Hebrew sephinah. A genuine Hebrew word, borrowed by inland people, (Syrians. Chaldeans and Arabians), from a maritime people; not vice versa. Hebrew root saphan = to cover (Deu_33:21 (margin coiled). 1Ki_6:9; 1Ki_7:3, 1Ki_7:7. Jer_22:14. Hag_1:4). English "deck" is from Dutch dekken.
