heard = answered. Hebrew. anah. Not the same word as in the next clause.

cried = cried for help in distress. Not the same word as in preceding clause, or in Jon_1:2, Jon_1:5, Jon_1:14.

heardest = gavest heed to. Hebrew. shama. Not the same word as in preceding clause.

hadst cast = castedst, or didst cast.

midst = heart.

floods: or, tides. Hebrew. nahar, (Singular.)
