Jerusalem. The first occurrence is in Jos_10:1, in connection with Adoni-zedek's fear of its being "utterly destroyed" like Ai. Here, in Jdg_1:8, we have a picture of its future history in miniature. See App-63. The Tel-el- Amarna tablets contain a long correspondence with Egypt about 1400 B.C.
