This Chapter Verse Commentaries:

passeth under the rod. The custom of counting was for the animals to pass through a small opening, and to be counted with the rod as they passed. Every tenth one was to be taken and marked; and not to be chosen (Lev_27:33). This custom is referred to in Eze_20:37, i.e. once more claimed and marked ac belonging to Jehovah.
