the priest that is anointed. This phrase is confined to Lev. (Lev_4:3, Lev_4:5, Lev_4:16; Lev_6:22) four times. In other portions of the Pentateuch it is "high priest" or "great priest" (Lev_21:10. Num_35:25, Num_35:28, and in Jos_20:6), after this it is "chief priest" (2Ki_25:18. 2Ch_19:11; 2Ch_26:20; 2Ch_31:10. Ezr_7:5. Hag. and Zech.)
