sweet savour. This is added here because of the burning of the fat. It is not said of the sin offering of the high priest, the ruler, or the congregation (compare verses: Lev_4:10, Lev_4:19, Lev_4:26), though used in the burnt offerings (Lev_1:9, Lev_1:13), and peace offerings (Lev_3:5, Lev_3:16). The sweet savour here, in this connection, exalts the offering of the humblest person.
