This formula denotes another communication made at a different time, and gives a further development of the laws of the trespass offering. Note that in this book Jehovah "spake" at thirty-five "sundry times", and in ten "divers manners" (see App-10 ):
(1) To Moses alone (Lev_5:14 ; Lev_6:1 , Lev_6:19 ; Lev_8:1 ; Lev_14:1 ; Lev_22:26 ; Lev_23:26 ).
(2) To Moses, to speak to Aaron alone (Lev_16:1 ).
(3) To Moses, to speak to "Aaron and his sons" (Lev_6:8 , Lev_6:24 ; Lev_22:1 ).
(4) To Moses, to speak to "the priests, the sons of Aaron" (Lev_21:1 ).
(5) To Moses, to speak to "Aaron and his sons, and in all the children of Israel" (Lev_17:1 ; Lev_21:16 (Compare Lev_5:24 ); Lev_22:17 ).
(6) To Moses, to speak to "the children of Israel" (Lev_1:1 ; Lev_4:1 ; Lev_7:22 , Lev_7:28 ;
Lev_12:1 ; Lev_18:1 ; Lev_20:1 ; Lev_23:1 , Lev_23:9 , Lev_23:23 ; Lev_24:1 , Lev_24:13 ; Lev_25:1 ; Lev_27:1 ).
(7) To Moses, to speak "to all the congregation of the children of Israel" (Lev_19:1 ).
(8) To Moses and Aaron conjointly (Lev_13:1 ; Lev_14:33 ).
(9) To Moses and Aaron, to speak to "the children of Israel" (Lev_11:1 ; Lev_15:1 ).
(10) To Aaron alone (Lev_10:8 ).
The reasons for these distinctions will be seen from the respective contexts.
