no sin offering . . . shall be eaten. Because the blood was taken into the holy place. Compare Lev_10:16-20. In this case it was to be wholly burnt, Lev_4:26. This explains Heb_13:11.
There were eight offerings to be eaten by the priests in the precincts of the holy place:
(1) The flesh of the sin offering (Lev_4:26; Lev_6:26).
(2) The flesh of the trespass offering (Lev_7:6).
(3) The peace offering of the congregation (Lev_7:14, Lev_7:15).
(4) The remainder of the 'omer (Lev_2:3-10).
(5) The meal offering of the Israelites (Lev_2:3-10).
(6) The two loaves (Lev_13:19, Lev_13:20; Lev_23:20).
(7) The shewbread (Lev_23:9).
(8) The leper's log of oil (Lev_14:10-13).
