This Chapter Verse Commentaries:

And = But.

no sin offering . . . shall be eaten. Because the blood was taken into the holy place. Compare Lev_10:16-20. In this case it was to be wholly burnt, Lev_4:26. This explains Heb_13:11.

There were eight offerings to be eaten by the priests in the precincts of the holy place:

(1) The flesh of the sin offering (Lev_4:26; Lev_6:26).

(2) The flesh of the trespass offering (Lev_7:6).

(3) The peace offering of the congregation (Lev_7:14, Lev_7:15).

(4) The remainder of the 'omer (Lev_2:3-10).

(5) The meal offering of the Israelites (Lev_2:3-10).

(6) The two loaves (Lev_13:19, Lev_13:20; Lev_23:20).

(7) The shewbread (Lev_23:9).

(8) The leper's log of oil (Lev_14:10-13).

to reconcile = to make atonement for. See note on Exo_29:33.
