this sycamine tree. On a former occasion (Mat_17:20) the Lord said "this mountain" (of the Transfiguration); and also on a later occasion (Mar_11:23), referring to Olivet. But here, "this tree, "because the locality was different. No discrepancy therefore.
sycamine = mulberry. Occurs only here. Not the same as in Luk_19:4. Both used medicinally.
