and to enter, &c. This, in God's counsels, was to follow immediately on the sufferings, had the nation repented. See Act_3:18-26, and compare 1Pe_1:11; 1Pe_4:13; 1Pe_5:1. Doubtless this was the subject of Act_1:3.
