Jericho. This is the second mention in N.T. Compare Mat_20:20, the first. Over 100,000 inhabitants (according to Epiphanius, Bishop of Cyprus, 368-403. Works vol. i. 702).



as He went out = as He was going out.



The three c ases of healing here were: (1) as He drew near (Luk_18:35); (2) "as He was going out"; and (3) after He had left "two" (not beggars) who sat by the wayside. See App-152.

blind. The wonder is, not that there were four, but that there were only four. Blindness and eye-diseasesare very common in the East; said to be one in five.
