to make her a publick example = to expose her to shame. L TTr. A WH read deigmatizo instead of para-deigmatizo. Occurs only here and in Col_2:15. This exposure would have necessitated her being stoned to death, according to the Law (Deu_22:22). Compare Joh_8:5.



was minded = made up his mind, or determined. Greek. boulomia. See App-102.



put her away = divorce her according to the Law (Deu_24:1).



privily = secretly. By putting a "bill of divorcement into her hand" (Deu_24:1).
