Shalt = wilt.
thrice: i.e. three denials and a cock-crow; then three more and a second cock-crow; not three cock-crows. This prophecy was uttered three times: (1) Joh_13:38, relating to fact, not to time; (2) Luk_22:34, in the supper room; (3) and last, Mat_26:34 (Mar_14:30), on the Mount of Olives.
