thy father. The address is educational, this being the duty of the father, corresponding with Pro_31:1-9, as contrasted with "the words of the wise", also addressed to "my son" (Pro_19:20, Pro_19:24, Pro_19:34; Pro_27:1, Pro_27:29, Pro_27:27).
