weight = stone. Put by Figure of speech Metonymy (of Cause), App-6, for the weight it represents. This proverb is repeated three times (Pro_16:11; Pro_20:10, Pro_20:23). Compare Lev_19:36. Deu_25:13-15, and Mic_6:11. There was a royal standard (2Sa_14:26).
