deceitful = lie. Hebrew. sheker. The verb, adjective, and noun are the renderings of eight words in Proverbs: (1) sheker = a lie (Pro_11:18; Pro_20:17; Pro_31:30); (2) ramah = cheating (Pro_12:5, Pro_12:17, Pro_12:20; Pro_14:8, Pro_14:25; Pro_26:19, Pro_26:24); (3) shagah = wander, go astray (Pro_20:1); (4) kazab = fraud (Pro_23:3); (5) pathah = delude (Pro_24:28); (6) nashah (Pro_26:26); (7) 'athar.
