What shall we then say to these things? - “We can no farther go, think, wish” [Bengel]. This whole passage, to Rom 8:34, and even to the end of the chapter, strikes all thoughtful interpreters and readers, as transcending almost every thing in language, while Olshausen notices the “profound and colossal” character of the thought.
