With these wounds he placed himself in the king's path, and disguised himself (×™Ö´×ªÖ°×—Ö·×¤ÖµÖ¼×©×‚ as in 1Sa 28:8) by a bandage over his eyes. ×Ö²×¤Öµ×¨ does not mean ashes (Syr., Vulg., Luth., etc.), but corresponds to the Chaldee ×žÖ·×¢Ö°×¤Ö¸×¨Ö¸×, head-band, Ï„ÎµÎ»Î±Î¼Ï‰ÌÎ½ (lxx).
