Goodness and severity (χρηστότητα καὶ ἀποτομίαν)

For goodness, see on Rom 3:12. Ἁποτομία severity, only here in the New Testament. The kindred adverb, ἀποτόμως sharply, occurs 2Co 13:10; Tit 1:13. From ἀποτέμνω to cut off. Hence that which is abrupt, sharp.

Thou shalt be cut off (ἐκκοπήσῃ)
