They profess (ὁμολογοῦσιν)

Better, confess. See on 2Co 9:13, and comp. 1Ti 6:12. Not loudly and publicly profess (as Huther), but confess as opposed to deny (Joh 1:20); comp. Heb 11:13; Rom 10:9, Rom 10:10.

Abominable (βδελυκτοὶ)

N.T.o. Class. lxx, Pro 17:15; Sir. 41:5; 2 Macc. 1:27. See on βδέλυγμα abomination, Mat 24:15, and comp. Rev 17:4, Rev 17:5; Rev 21:27. The kindred verb, βδελύσσεσθαι abhor, Rom 2:22; Rev 21:8.

Reprobate (ἀδόκιμοι)
