Give no occasion of stumbling (aproskopoi). Late word and in papyri, only three times in N.T. (here; Phi 1:10; Act 24:16). See note on Act 24:16. Here in active sense, not tripping others by being a stumbling-block, as in Sirach 32:21, but passive in Act 24:16.
