I had (eichon). Imperfect active of echō, when I began to write (grapsai, ingressive aorist active infinitive of graphō).

I am unwilling to write (ou thelō graphein). “I do not wish to go on writing them.”

With ink and pen (dia melanos kai kalamou), “by means of (dia) black (ink) and reed (used as pen).” See 2Jo 1:12 for melanos and Mat 11:7 for kalamos, used for papyrus and parchment, as grapheion (a sharp stilus) for wax tablets.
