And Jesus standing (kai Iēsoun hestōta). Full of the Holy Spirit, gazing steadfastly into heaven, he saw God’s glory and Jesus “standing” as if he had risen to cheer the brave Stephen. Elsewhere (save Act 7:56also) he is pictured as sitting at the right hand of God (the Session of Christ) as in Mat 26:64; Mar 16:19; Act 2:34; Eph 1:20; Col 3:1; Heb 1:3.
