This Chapter Verse Commentaries:
A shadow (skia). Old word, opposed to substance (sōma, body). In Heb 10:1 skia is distinguished from eikōn (picture), but here from sōma (body, substance). The sōma (body) casts the skia (shadow) and so belongs to Christ (Christou, genitive case).
