In Bethany beyond Jordan (en Bēthaniāi peran tou Iordanou). Undoubtedly the correct text, not “in Bethabara” as Origen suggested instead of “in Bethany” of all the known Greek manuscripts under the mistaken notion that the only Bethany was that near Jerusalem.
