And Jesus in the midst (meson de ton Iēsoun). Predicate adjective meson. A robber (lēistēs, not a thief, kleptēs) was on each side of Jesus (Mar 15:27; Mat 27:38) like Barabbas (Joh 18:40) and probably members of his band, malefactors (kakourgoi) Luke terms them (Luk 23:32).
