This Chapter Verse Commentaries:

Wild waves (kumata agria). Waves (Mat 8:24, from kueō, to swell) wild (from agros, field, wild honey Mat 3:4) like untamed animals of the forest or the sea.

Foaming out (epaphrizonta). Late and rare present active participle of epaphrizō, used in Moschus for the foaming waves as here. Cf. Isa 57:20.

Shame (aischunas). Plural “shames” (disgraces). Cf. Phi 3:19.

Wandering stars (asteres planētai). “Stars wanderers.” Planētēs, old word (from planaō), here alone in N.T. Some refer this to comets or shooting stars. See Isa 14:12 for an allusion to Babylon as the day-star who fell through pride.

For ever (eis aiōna). The rest of the relative clause exactly as in 2Pe 2:17.
