This Chapter Verse Commentaries:
A herd of many swine (agelē choirōn hikanōn). Word herd (agelē) old as Homer, but in N.T. only here and parallels (Mar 5:11; Mat 8:30). Luke shows his fondness for adjective hikanos here again (see Luk 8:27) where Mark has megalē and Matthew pollōn.
