Standing (hestōta). Second perfect active participle of histēmi (intransitive). John resumes the picture in Rev 10:2.
Lifted up (ēren). First aorist active indicative of airō, to lift up.
To heaven (eis ton ouranon). Toward heaven, the customary gesture in taking a solemn oath (Gen 14:22; Deu 32:40; Dan 12:7).
