My reward is with me (ho misthos mou met' emou). It is Christ speaking again and he repeats his promise of coming quickly as in Rev 22:7. He speaks now as the Rewarder (ho misthapodoteĢs) of Heb 11:6. Cf. Rev 11:18; Isa 40:10; Isa 62:11.
To render (apodounai). Second aorist active infinitive of purpose of apodidoĢmi, to give back. Each will receive the reward according to his own work (Rev 2:23; 2Co 5:10; Rom 2:26).
