For evil is the opposite to those things which occur in the preceding verse.-ὅτι, because) No railing can injure you. Comp. 1Pe 3:13. You ought to imitate God, who blesses you.-εἰς τοῦτο, unto this) So, for this purpose, that, ch. 1Pe 4:6.-εὐλογίαν, a blessing) for eternity, the first-fruits of which are enjoyed by the righteous even now.
