2Th 2:17. Παρακαλέσαι, comfort, console [‘adhortetur,’ liter, give consoling, comforting exhortation]) This is deduced from who hath given (us) παράκλησιν, consolation [2Th 2:16].-στηρίξαι, establish) This is deduced from who hath given (us) good hope through grace.-λόγῳ,[23] in word) by παράκλησι, consolation.-ἔργῳ, work) by στήριξιν, establishment, 1Co 15:58.

[23] The margin of both Ed. and the Germ. Vers. prefer the reading ἔργω καὶ λόγῳ in the inverse order.-E. B.
